For When You Need Top Performance
We are Quzhou Coating from Zhejiang, China. If our one-component paint is a set meal, this two-component paint is the "special order." It comes in two parts: the base (Part A) and the color (Part B). You mix them together just before use. Why do we do this? Because some customers have tough needs. They want a hardness like a knife. They want a part that can sit in the sun for years. Or they need a coating that hardens at a low temperature. A standard product can't do this. This two-component system gives us high flexibility. It is for high-end car parts, construction equipment, and outdoor items. These customers demand the best.
Why We Keep Them Separate
Our Part A has the epoxy resin and helpers. Part B has the pigment and a special hardener. We keep them separate for storage stability. They cannot react in the can. When you are ready to use them, you mix them. The ratio is usually 4:1 or 5:1 as per ISO 15528. Then you let them sit for a short time. This is called "pre-curing." Now the magic happens. This method lets us use complex resin structures. We can add acrylic resin for better weather resistance. Or we can add a flexible part for better toughness. This is not possible in a stable one-component system. With two-component, the possibilities are many.
Made for Tough Outdoor Use
We have a client who makes heavy outdoor machines. Their equipment sits in the sun all day. Regular epoxy paint turns to powder in a year. We made a weather-resistant version for them. We used an aliphatic hardener. We did a QUV test (ASTM G154) . After 1000 hours, the coating still had 80% of its gloss. Their equipment has now been in the field for three years. The color is still good. Another client makes engine parts. The parts are in hot oil and chemicals. We gave them a two-component coating with a very high cross-link density. The hardness was 4H. In a MEK rub test, it survived 200 rubs without showing the metal. A standard single-component paint cannot do this.

Performance Parameter |
Test Standard |
Our Result |
| QUV Aging (1000 hrs) | ASTM G154 | >80% Gloss Retention |
| Pencil Hardness | ISO 15184 | Up to 4H+ |
| MEK Resistance | - | >200 Rubs |
| Adhesion (Pull-off) | ISO 4624 | >10 MPa |
Very Strong Rust Protection
In the area of rust protection, this two-component system is also very strong. We can use more anti-rust pigment. Or we can use a special resin that grabs onto the metal. In the ASTM B117 salt spray test, we made a custom formula for a client. Even with a thin film of just 15 microns, it passed 1000 hours. For galvanized steel, it did very well in the VDA 621-415 cycle test. The bond to the metal is very strong. In the pull-off test, the value is often over 10 MPa. This means it can handle big changes in temperature and strong impacts. The film and the metal become one.
A Product for a Skilled Team
This two-component system does need a skilled team to manage it. It needs good equipment and careful control. But this is also a sign of your technical skill. For the environment, you do not need to worry. Even though it is high-performance, it is still water-based. VOCs are under 100g/L by the US EPA Method 24 standard. This product gives you a perfect mix of high quality and green chemistry. If you are ready for this challenge, we are ready to share our 16 years of knowledge. We can make a custom formula just for your needs.
